Free SEO & AI Search Readiness Checker
X-ray any page in seconds: title, meta description, canonical, structured data, indexability, and whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot are allowed.
How to use the X-ray
- Paste the address of one page, such as your home page or a key service page.
- Wait a few seconds while it fetches the page like a search bot would and reads robots.txt and llms.txt.
- Read the score and the checklist. Green items are fine; red items are your fix list.
- Repeat on two or three different templates (home, category, article) because problems are often template-wide.
The 14 checks and their weights
The weights add up to 100 points. A score of 80 or more shows green, 55 or more amber, and lower is red.
| Check | What it looks at | Points |
|---|---|---|
| AI crawlers allowed | robots.txt does not block GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot or Google-Extended. | 12 |
| Page responds (HTTP 200) | The URL returns a normal success status, not an error or redirect chain. | 10 |
| Indexable | No noindex in the meta robots tag or the X-Robots-Tag header. | 10 |
| Structured data | At least one JSON-LD block is present, and the types found are listed. | 10 |
| Title tag | A title of 10 to 65 characters. | 8 |
| Meta description | A description of 50 to 170 characters. | 6 |
| Canonical URL | A rel="canonical" link is declared. | 6 |
| Single H1 | One clear H1 on the page (a best practice). | 6 |
| Mobile viewport | A viewport meta tag is set for mobile screens. | 6 |
| HTTPS | The page is served securely. | 6 |
| Server response time | The first response arrives in under 800 ms. | 6 |
| llms.txt file | A /llms.txt summary for AI models exists (a bonus, not a requirement). | 6 |
| Open Graph tags | Social sharing tags are present. | 4 |
| Image alt text | Fewer than 20% of images are missing alt text. | 4 |
What the score does not tell you
- It reads one page at a time, from the raw HTML. Content that only appears after JavaScript runs is not seen.
- It is a readiness snapshot, not a full audit: it does not measure rankings, backlinks, content quality or Core Web Vitals from real users.
- The response time is one request from a server, not what your visitors experience.
- A 100 does not mean your site will rank or be cited by AI. It means the basics are in place.
Frequently asked questions
Is the X-ray free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, and it does not save your results.
Which AI crawlers does it check?
GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended, based on your robots.txt rules.
My score is low. What should I fix first?
Start with the heaviest items: AI crawler access, indexability, status code and structured data. Together they are 42 of the 100 points.
Can you fix what it finds?
Yes. A technical SEO audit turns the findings into a prioritized plan, and I can implement the fixes or brief your developers.
